the tiny little high five

is the studio journal of Jocelyn Mathewes, an interdisciplinary fine artist living in rural Appalachia.

My work involves all kinds of media (photography, cyanotype, sculpture, drawing, painting, video, and more). I write about my creative process, community-building, and the stories/artworks I find compelling.

My studio at night.

I send you—

  1. Monthly newsletters - releasing on or around the 15th of every month beginning in January.

  2. Mid-quarterly studio BTS (paid subscribers) - will contain my works in progress, vlog, and in-depth talk about what I'm reading lately, beginning in February.

  3. End-of quarter long form essays (paid subscribers get first look) - topics include literature, art, film, and anything else I can cook up along these lines.

Every subscriber becomes a collaborator and supporter of my work!

Plus, you get to see how the art is made, hear about upcoming shows, speaking, online hangouts, in-person gatherings, and to chat with an intellectually curious artist!
